  1. Where do I go to list my business for sale?
    Register in the "Seller Center" or "Broker Center" to choose your listing option. Details on each of the options is available in the respective sections.

  2. How much does it cost?
    We have a number of different listing options:
     
    Broker Accounts (Visit Broker Center for details)
    Level 1: Up to 4 standard listings
    Level 2: Up to 9 standard listings
    Level 3: Up to 19 standard listings
    Level 4: Up to 30 standard listings
    Custom Plans Available For Larger Listing Holders
     - Brokers can also upgrade listings to featured and spotlight listings for discounted upgrade fees

  3. I'm a broker. How can I list multiple listings and is there a savings?
    To list multiple listings please visit the "Broker Center" to see our different options. Brokers who may only have one listing are also encouraged to sign up in the Brokers Center as the long term cost is cheaper and also Broker users get added exposure in the Brokers Directory.

  4. How do I get listed on the homepage?
    Spotlight listings which rotate on the homepage are available for an additional upgrade fee. Brokers must upgrade listings individually once a listing is posted.

  5. How do I pay for my listing?
    All payments are made online using secure online credit card processing by PayPal Pay Flow Pro payment services. Broker accounts are setup on monthly subscriptions and renew each month until the account is canceled.

  6. I would like to sell but how do I value the business and put an asking price to it?
    Since we are not a broker or appraiser we do not provide advice on business pricing. From time to time we may post surveys related to pricing however we recommend you talk to a third party such as a broker, lawyer, appraiser, or other qualified professional to come up with an asking price.

  7. How much traffic does your site get?

  8. Can I list a new business opportunity?
    Yes. You can list any business for sale opportunity as long as it is legitimate. We also accept retail space for lease, buildings for sale, commercial land for sale, and business equipment for sale. Business For Sale Exchange reserves the right to refuse or cancel listings and/or accounts at anytime for any reason.

  9. What is the best way to sell my business?
    Selling a business isn't easy and although our service is very successful for many of our users, you may want to try a number of approaches to making a sale. We strongly recommend that in addition to online marketing, that you do local marketing in your area. Posting classifieds in the newspaper and doing direct mailings to businesses in your area that are similar will help create interest in your business. We also suggest for high profile listings that you purchase a Spotlight listing on our homepage. If you have been trying to sell your listing and have not had success you may want to consider consulting with a broker that specializes in selling your type of business.

  10. Our sale is confidential. How can I protect my business's identity?
    When filling out the listing form, you can reveal as much or as little information about your business as you wish. Some of the ways to keep your business's identity confidential would be to list with a generic name (i.e. Rather than using the business's name use a catchy title like "Proprietary Manufacturing Business"). You can also use a generic address. (ie. Rather than the actual address use "Central Miami Location, Florida")

  11. I forgot my password to edit my ad. How do I get it?
    In order to retrieve your password, visit the "Seller Center" and click on the appropriate link. You can request your password simply by typing in your email address. Broker accounts please visit the "Broker Center" to do this.

  12. I just submitted my listing and it doesn't appear online. When will it be available online?
    Listings are generally reviewed within a few hours on the same business day you submit your listing. If you don't see your listing online within 1 business day we recommend sending us an email which should include the name on the account and when the listing was submitted.

  13. Can I include pictures or images with my listing?
    YES! All seller and broker listing accounts allow you to upload up to 6 photos and images. We accept JPEG (.jpg) and GIF (.gif) files. You are able to title each photo and choose the default photo. Feel free to email us photos if you have trouble uploading yourself. Common reasons for failure to upload include the width & height being too large, the file type is wrong, and the most common one being that the file size was too large. We can reformat most files appropriately and upload them for you if you are having trouble. Please email us for assistance.

  14. How do I get my photo in the search results?
    Photos in the search results appear only for Spotlight and Featured listings. You can upgrade your listings to one of these two types by visiting the listing manager and selecting "upgrade."
